Renovation and extension of existing dwelling
Introduction / Brief
The client was looking to refurbish and extend a large Victorian dwelling. The building had a number of large reception rooms but the kitchen was a small dark room located on the rear of the building. The client wanted to extend this and form a family room and additional bedroom.
Site / Context
The house was in a good condition the issue was the small dark kitchen located at the rear of the property. The property had a small rear courtyard garden with open fields beyond that the client wanted to make better use of.
Materials
The building had some lovely original features and brickwork and was in very good condition. The extension was formed in brickwork to match existing with window detailing to match. Internally the new kitchen and family room were of a modern, contemporary design.
